The organizing principle for the next part of the trip was the exploration of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I knew it was a little bit early in the year for the Parkway, and sure enough the southernmost peaks of the Parkway were closed due to snow. But I had to drive up to altitude and cross the ridge to find that out.
